I've been very happy with this chipper. Had a little trouble w/delivery -- it was held up a week due to circumstances beyond the Outlet's control.
I've used it hard for 3 days now with absolutely no problems.
It’s a Great Machine, absolutely love it!!! There was only one problem, it came with a flat tire because it had a hole in it. We would highly recommend this chipper.
The PK0915 is a beast of a machine. It has made short work of everything I have thrown at it, including tough, aged wood with a diameter up to 5”. The Kohler engine is elegantly designed and effortless to start. I use Kohler Pro 300 Hour Oil (10W-50), and it’s about ready for its first change. This chipper has no drawbacks; it is worth every penny. I do recommend getting to know the Kohler engine inside and out before you pull that rip cord. Per Kohler, pull the cord very gently, just until you feel resistance. Then Stop(!), and return the cord. Then pull a second time with normal force. The engine should erupt with life with minimal effort at cold start as long as the engine is fully choked and the throttle is set midway between fast and slow. Baby the engine. Let it warm. Slowly disengage the choke. Full throttle. Ready.
I received the chipper right on schedule. Nothing damaged all intact. I unpackaged the crate and started the assembly. One thing is there were no assembly instructions to be found. Even without them it wasn't difficult at all to put together. Just a little over an hour to get it done. Getting that large chute on by myself was a struggle. It came without oil in the engine so I had to make a run to go get the proper grade. Once back I filled the engine and proceeded to start it up. Not much to go on there either as far as instructions go. Got it figured out and it started. It ran smooth but it does take a little bit to pull that cord to start it. If you have the extra bucks, spring for the electric start. I had some fresh cut pine branches off a 100 foot pine I cut down the week before. It easily chewed them up anything under 3" inches. Some 4" to 5" pieces I had went through it but it worked at it and it eventually chipped that also. DO NOT STAND IN FRONT WHEN LOADING. Occasionally a chunk will come flying out so be careful. Tonight I will be chipping an older pile of branches and If there are issues I will update the post. All in all I am extremely please with the product at this time. It does everything it claims to do. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a chipper.
I already knew a lot about the equipment I was buying, so quality of the machines was never a question. They are all working well as expected. What stands out to me about my experience was the way I was treated by Ryan. Ryan contacted me via email when he noticed I had placed 3 items in my cart and not checked out. He asked me if I had any questions about anything, and I asked him about freight and shipping charges, as well as lead times. He was straightforward about the lead times, and the equipment showed up on time. He also gave me a break on pricing and shipping costs because I was buying multiple pieces of heavy equipment on one order and had it delivered to a warehouse with a loading dock to save on liftgate delivery. It can be risky buying expensive machinery from online retailers. You never know if your equipment is going to show up on time and un-damaged. The fact that the owner reached out to me himself shows me he is intrinsically motivated and committed to seeing his sales transactions all the way through. Now that I have a name to attach to the company, I will go to WSO first to look for any future pieces I may need.
